RIDLEY TOWNSHIP >> One year ago when Megan and Robert Trinkley hosted the first “Homes for Heroes” fundraiser to aid homeless veterans, the event was held in one of the banquet rooms at Barnaby’s Heritage Ballrooms.

When the second annual Homes for Heroes took place at Barnaby’s Friday night, all four banquet rooms were used to accommodate the more than 500 people who attended the fundraiser, which netted $28,000 in 2015.

“There is such a vital need for veterans who are struggling to have a home where they can find some security,” U.S. Rep. Pat Meehan, R-7 of Chadds Ford, said as he sampled some of the food at the lavish buffet.
