New multifamily housing is coming to Hickory Ridge in Columbia.
Mission First Housing Group, in partnership with the Howard County Housing Commission and the Autism Society of Maryland, is set to start work on a 76-unit affordable apartment community for adults with disabilities, older adults and families in Columbia.
The $44 million Patuxent Commons project at 6441 Freetown Road aims to integrate the community for people of different ages, abilities and household incomes. Mission First envisions the development as a solution to the growing housing crisis facing adults with disabilities that can be adapted to other locations in Maryland and serve as a model for similar housing developments throughout the United States.
