Why:
Throughout Greater Philadelphia and the rest of the nation, people are taking part in Martin Luther King Day of Service to help their neighbors and communities. They honor Dr. King’s legacy through service, improving lives, and making a difference in our communities. Employees from Vanguard—for the seventh consecutive year—and the UPENN School of Social Policy and Practice will assist their neighbors living in West Philadelphia through refreshing the homes of ACHIEVEability and Mission First Housing Group’s residents.
ACHIEVEability and Mission First Housing Group recently formed a strategic alliance to work together to serve at-risk, vulnerable and underserved individuals and families. Together, Mission First and ACHIEVEability administer more than 2,800 homes for low-income populations, including veterans, elderly and the disabled, and single-parent and homeless families, throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, and elsewhere in the Middle Atlantic states.
