WEST CHESTER — The board of the Housing Authority of the County of Chester is seeking a new executive director, following notice given by Dale Gravett, current executive director, of his intention to retire after 12 years in the position.

The board has engaged the services of Strategic Government Resources Inc. to begin a search for a new executive director for the organization. Gravett will continue to serve as executive director until the position is filled and will support the Housing Authority of Chester County during the transition.

Speaking on behalf of the board of the Housing Authority of Chester County, Board Chairman Pat Bokovitz, said, “We appreciate the work that Dale has done for the Housing Authority during his time as executive director. During his tenure, Dale was instrumental in the creation of three affordable housing councils, the Whitehall Veterans Apartments in Spring City, and the expansion of the number of Housing Choice vouchers in the county.”

The board will take the opportunity presented by Dale Gravett’s retirement to focus on the next phase in the Housing Authority’s service to the Chester County community, fulfilling its mission to provide, manage and develop quality affordable housing for individuals and families, while promoting self-sufficiency and neighborhood revitalization.
