CEO Thomas Queenan and residents featured in JPMorgan Chase’s “If these walls could talk” campaign

by Becky Staffieri

Mission First joined longtime partner JPMorgan Chase for a local storytelling campaign regarding the impact of affordable housing developments in Philadelphia as part of its “If these walls could talk” video series. Our CEO Thomas Queenan, along with two of our residents, were interviewed about the impact of our innovative and transformational work at Mid City Apartments and throughout Philadelphia.

Ms. Betty Smith is a 74-year-old resident who moved into a Single Room Occupancy unit in 2008 at Mid City and now very happily lives in a fully appointed, self-contained efficiency style apartment created through the property renovations. Ms. Markita Worthy is a 27-year-old single mother who works part-time at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She moved to Mid City Apartments in 2021 just before the renovations started and went from an efficiency apartment to a fully appointed one bedroom to accommodate her and her son’s needs.
