Today we are announcing a formal separation from our affiliate, ACHIEVEability.

ACHIEVEability has been a part of Mission First Housing Group since 2015. When we came together seven years ago through a strategic alliance, Mission First assumed ownership and management of ACHIEVEability’s West Philadelphia real estate portfolio, and provided back-office and administrative support, in order to allow ACHIEVEability to focus on its anti-poverty programming. In turn, ACHIEVEability brought its expertise in human services delivery to Mission First, as Mission First was building out its own Resident Services Department.

We have faithfully executed this plan for seven years and both organizations are stronger for having come together in this alliance.

A recent strategic planning process allowed us to take stock of the work we have accomplished together. Today, ACHIEVEability’s core program is stronger than ever and it has made significant advances in building capacity in its flagship anti-poverty programming, while also building out its community and economic development programming. At the same time, Mission First has experienced significant growth, expanding its geographic footprint, making considerable strides in the preservation development space, and adding significantly to its portfolio of new construction affordable housing.

Mission First and ACHIEVEability are now ready to operate independently, focusing on their core missions. This separation was effective on April 1, 2022. Though we are separating, we look forward to continue working together to meet the needs of low-income Philadelphians, and we wish ACHIEVEability well in their hard work to break the generational cycle of poverty.

With a new strategic plan in place, new leadership, new partners and new projects on the horizon, we’re excited for what the future holds for Mission First. Thank you all for your support of our work over the years.
