BORDENTOWN CITY— A former industrial area in the northern part of the city that turned out everything from flour and feed to men’s dress shirts is on the cusp of revitalization as a developer prepares to convert the former Eagle Shirt Factory into affordable senior housing.
It’s the first project to be built in the redevelopment zone that includes the former Brick Feed Mill, the former lumber and coal yard of J.M. Reeder & Co., Modern Store Equipment and the soon-to-be-shuttered Ocean Spray plant.
“Hopefully this will be the start of the revitalization of those parcels,” said Mark Deitcher, director of business development of Mission First Housing, the developer.
