The Bradford County commissioners have approved an agreement under which an annual $40,000 payment-in-lieu-of-taxes will be made on the planned 50-unit Wyalusing Meadows affordable housing development in Wyalusing Borough.

The $40,000 payment will take the place of all property taxes that would have been owed to the county, the Wyalusing Area School District, and Wyalusing Borough, the Bradford County commissioners said.

Making a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes “relieves some of the financial burden on the project,” said Bradford County Commissioner Ed Bustin.
