In 2016, Making it Possible to End Homelessness partnered with Mission First Housing Group to further its mission of ending homelessness in Central New Jersey. Mission First converted former transitional housing programs Amandla Crossing and Imani Park to Permanent Supportive Housing for homeless individuals and families in Middlesex County. This program is now known as Mission First Supportive Housing: Edison.
Amandla Crossing and Imani Park provide a total of 46 units of safe, affordable and permanent housing combined with on-site support services where residents can access the resources they need to increase health, independence and housing stability.
Kenja’s Story
It has been a long road for Kenja. Her experience at Imani Park, one of Mission First Housing Group’s Permanent Supportive Housing communities in Edison, NJ, was what helped her move past her addiction and homelessness and into independent living. Click here to read Kenja’s story.
Jamyles’s Story
Jamyles is a resident living at Imani Park who struggled for years residing in and out of shelters and battling domestic violence, all while raising her four children. Through the support services offered by Mission First Supportive Housing: Edison and the housing stability we provide, she is on the verge of buying her first home! When you make a donation to Mission First Supportive Housing: Edison, you’re helping to ensure that residents have the supports they need to remain successfully housed, get back on their feet and live as thriving members of the community.
Your generous donations help support critical programs and services such as:
- Individual and group skill building in areas such as tenancy, financial literacy, self -advocacy, goal setting and employment supports
- Health and nutrition education programs
- An onsite food pantry, connection to area food banks and other basic needs
- Emergency transportation assistance
- Recreational and community building activities like monthly craft classes, community gardening, holiday events and much more!
