Description

Mission First Housing Group completed the Haddington III Preservation Initiative in 2019. This project preserved 48 units of subsidized rental housing in the Haddington neighborhood of West Philadelphia. Haddington III received an allocation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency in 2016 and was awarded Project-Based Vouchers under the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD) from the Philadelphia Housing Authority to provide rental subsidies for all units.

The project consists of 48 single-family homes comprised of 10 two-bedroom units, 33 three-bedroom units, and 5 four-bedroom units. The homes were originally developed as two separate LIHTC developments, Haddington and Haddington II. While the homes were consistently occupied, typical wear and tear over the last 20 years has resulted in the need for substantial upgrades and replacements to be made in order to ensure the long term viability of these units. The completed project continues to provide much needed housing for homeless and low income residents in West Philadelphia The project contains both transitional (21) and permanent (27) units, and residents have access to ACHIEVEability’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

Mission First’s affiliate, Columbus Property Management & Development, Inc. (CPM) was the general contractor, and currently provides property management services to Haddington III.
