Description
In 1997 at the request of the City of Dover, Mission First was asked to consider the redevelopment of an existing housing site 1 block off the City’s main street. A large portion was deemed infeasible to rehabilitate, so it was demolished and replaced with 10 units of new construction. The remaining 8 units, situated in 3 different structures on the site, were rehabilitated. The completion of the project resulted in the preservation of 18 units of affordable housing that are located close to employment centers and close to the City’s services and amenities.
Funding was provided through low income housing tax credit equity, a HOME loan from the Delaware State Housing Authority and a Housing Development Fund loan from DSHA.
